Accessibility for Visitors with Disabilities

Admission Fee

Holders of disability certificate (e.g. intellectual disability certificate, mental disability certificate, physical disability certificate) and their caregivers are admitted to the permanent exhibitions for free and to special exhibitions at 50% of the normal admission fee.
*Please present the certificate to the staff at the reception.

Parking Space for Persons with Disabilities

Parking spaces marked with disability symbol are available for priority use by persons with disabilities. (There is space for two vehicles in the underground parking lot.)
Wheelchair users can use an elevator to enter the South Wing from the underground parking lot.
Please contact the office of the museum in advance.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs (e.g. service dogs, seeing-eye dogs, hearing-assistance dogs) may accompany visitors to the museum.

Mobility Assistance

    The museum is complete with facilities to assist the mobility of visitors with disabilities, such as outdoor and indoor slopes and elevators.
    Automatic doors are available at the entrances to the North Wing and South Wing.
    An elevator can accommodate up to two wheelchairs.

Wheelchair Lending Service

Two wheelchairs are available for lending.
If you need a wheelchair, please contact the museum in advance.
Museum staff member can help push wheelchairs upon prior application.

Toilet

Three multifunctional toilets are available. (2nd floor of the South Wing, 1st floor and 2nd floor of the North Wing)
The multifunctional toilet on the 2nd floor of the South Wing is equipped with a baby chair.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

An AED is a medical device that applies an electric shock to someone in cardiopulmonary arrest to allow a normal cardiac rhythm to resume.
An AED is placed in the entrance hall on the 1st floor of the South Wing.

Nursing Room

A room for feeding babies and changing diapers is located on the 1st floor of the South Wing.

Baby Carriage Lending

Baby carriages are available for visitors' use.
Baby carriages can be used freely, though availability is limited.
