*20% discount is applied to a group of more than 30 people. Special exhibition fee is set separately.
*Holders of Donguri Card,Cocoron Card and rojin techo (senior citizen handbook) (issued to senior citizens of Himeji City) are admitted to permanent exhibitions for free. *Persons with disabilities and their caregivers are admitted to permanent exhibitions for free, and to special exhibitions at 50% of the normal admission fee. For more details, inquire with the museum staff.

Access

By train and bus

Get off at Himeji Station of JR or Sanyo Railway and take a bus from Shinki Bus Terminal in front of the station.

  • Take a bus from bus stops No. 9, No.10, No.17 or No.18, and get off at Ichinohashi Bungakukan-mae (about a six-minute bus ride). The museum is about a four-minute walk north from the bus stop.
  • Take a Himeji Castle loop bus from bus stop No.6, and get off at Shimizubashi (Bungakukan-mae) (about a ten-minute bus ride). The museum is about a three-minute walk west from the bus stop.
