Visitors are invited to explore the history of Himeji through local stories.

Gallery to Trace the history of Himeji Castle (on the 1st floor of the North Wing)

Stories and historical events associated with Himeji Castle and Himeyama Hill where the castle is located are presented by means of videos in the style of a drama, artifacts and graphic displays, covering the period from ancient to modern times. A total of 26 episodes are showcased along a long curved gallery.

"Forest of Words" Gallery (on the 1st floor of the North Wing)

Impressive remarks made by literary figures associated with the Harima area and their lives are showcased.

This exhibition focuses on the lives and works of writers and scholars in light of their words. Visitors are guided to impressive remarks by means of touch panels.
